		<description>There is indeed a lively discussion going on in the comment section.  There are a lot of good reasons therein for Adobe to open source the Flash Player.  Who knows, maybe Apple&#039;s new iPad not supporting Flash may be the final straw that causes Adobe to fully open source the player.

On another front, some good friends where I used to work have been using the Vaadin Framework (I think it&#039;s built around GWT) for RIA and have recommended it.  It&#039;s distributed under an open source license:  http://vaadin.com/license.  Maybe I&#039;ll do a similar write for that framework and see how it compares.</description>
